Is it unethical for a defense attorney to call and barter with a victim of a crime?

I just got a call from a defense attorney who is defending a man Buy Ampicillin Online who assaulted me a short while ago. He asked what my expenses were, if any, and I told him. He offered me $350 for the expenses to drop the case. Of course I cannot be bought for such a low sum, but I was just curious if this sort of practice is normal, ethical, or even legal? Thanks.
